2025 China - Indonesia Ceramic Industry Seminar was successfully held, building a bridge for international cooperation

On 16th January, Foshan Uniceramics Expo, Ceramic Town Weekly, and Indonesian Ceramic Industry Association (ASAKI) jointly held the 2025 China - Indonesia Ceramic Industry Seminar with the theme of "Changes and New Opportunities" in Jakarta, Indonesia, to help upstream and downstream enterprises in the ceramic industry chain explore international markets and deepen cooperation and exchanges.

This event received support from Chinese suppliers including NEW KING TIME, AITAO, JASEND, QUNYI, HUAYAN, LONGER BETTER, and ACV, and attracted more than 100 Indonesian ceramic professionals to participate. Both countries take this opportunity to have in-depth exchanges and jointly explore new opportunities for cooperation.

It is reported that Indonesia currently has 38 ceramic companies, with an annual consumption of approximately 620 million square meters of ceramic tiles. In 2024, the capacity utilization rate of Indonesia's ceramic industry is only 67-68%, with an actual output of about 420 million square meters, and 200 million square meters of consumption that needs to be met by imported products. Indonesia hopes to enhance the competitiveness of local enterprises to fill the 200 million square meter gap.

Mr. Edy Suyanto, Chairman of the Indonesian Ceramic Industry Association (ASAKI) , stated in his speech that the Indonesian government has introduced subsidies and tax exemption policies for the ceramic industry, and the real estate industry in Indonesia is developing rapidly. It is expected that there will be a lot of room for development in the Indonesian ceramic industry. However, the per capita square meter of ceramic tiles in Indonesia is still relatively low, and the manufacturing level of the ceramic industry needs to be upgraded. Therefore, he is very pleased to see such seminar for mutual communication and understanding between the ceramic industries of China and Indonesia. He hopes it can continue to be held in the future, so that China's new technologies and equipment can be shared with the Indonesian ceramic industry more quickly.

Ms. Putu Nadi Astuti, Director of Cement, Ceramics, and Non-metallic Mineral Processing Industry, and Directorate General of Chemical, Pharmaceutical, and Textile Industry, also visited the site, fully demonstrating the importance attached by local government departments to the event. She stated that both China and Indonesia are part of RCEP, and hopes that China can promote more cooperation between the two sides by investing in the ceramic industry, building factories, and sharing technology in Indonesia. She also hopes that this year's seminar will become a leading platform for exchanges between the ceramic industries of the two countries.

Li Xinliang, President of Ceramic Town Weekly and General Manager of Foshan Uniceramics Expo, provided four directions for the development of Indonesia's ceramic industry from the perspective of industrial development. He stated that the Indonesian market is facing rapid development of both rigid and improved demand, which will drive up the prices and quality of ceramic products. Indonesian ceramic companies can develop towards quality, branding, standardization, and globalization, especially the US market is an important opportunity for Indonesia, which can fully leverage its tariff and transportation advantages. Foshan Uniceramics Expo offers new technologies, equipment, and gathers many international trade service providers. Indonesian ceramic companies can come to Foshan Uniceramics Expo to make more business partners.

Luo Fei, Supply Chain Engineer of Foshan Uniceramics Expo, shared his ideas on cost reduction and efficiency improvement in ceramic production lines, as well as some new technologies. He introduced the advantages of China's standardized automation and intelligence, efficient and stable production hardware, and a scientifically reasonable management team, which have created a unique high-yield model with relatively high cost-effectiveness. In addition, Luo Fei also introduced the cost reduction and efficiency improvement measures of ceramic factories from the aspects of formula, permanent magnet motor, boiling furnace, AI intelligent detection, and digital system.

Jack Peng, General Manager of NEW KING TIME, shared on the theme of "Development Trends of Ceramic Tile Surface Decoration and Equipment".

Jim Ding, Sales Director of AITAO mainly shared the "Production and Application of Ceramic Cutting Machines in Flexible Ceramic Production".

Jeniffer Qin, Founder and General Manager of JASEND delivered a keynote speech on "Making a Piece of Good Tile from the Perspective of Belt".

During the panel discussion session, Indonesian companies asked questions on how to improve product quality, optimize production processes, increase efficiency, reduce waste, and lower fuel costs. Xiahou Yanqun, Export Manager of QUNYI PIGMENT, and others answered each question and shared advanced technologies such as big slab production and delivery, zero carbon ammonia hydrogen combustion, and non burning ecological stones.
